Office of Faculty Development

The UAB Pediatrics Office of Faculty Development (OFD) exists to support the individual career development of our faculty and to advance institutional and departmental goals. The office is led by Jeffrey Lebensburger, D.O., MSPH, professor in the Division of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology, and April Spencer, MBA, program manager. The OFD coordinates closely with faculty development activities within the Heersink School of Medicine to ensure coordinated growth of each faculty member’s professional development. The OFD seeks to create an academic environment and programs that: 1. support, enhance and recognize the professional activities of faculty 2. promote recruitment, retention and academic career advancement of all faculty

In addition to professional development coaching, the OFD provides individual consultation on topics such as: • Transitioning to a Faculty Position • CV Preparation Assistance • Promotion Readiness Consultation • Mentorship Identification and Education

The OFD offered 4 th Fridays Lunch and Learn Series and Leadership Development Series. These series transitioned to a hybrid/virtual environment this year and included presenters from Professional Speech Services of Alabama, P.C, UAB Heersink School of Medicine, Pediatrics Office of Faculty Development, and pediatrics divisions of Academic General Pediatrics, Adolescent Medicine and Hospital Medicine. 4 TH FRIDAYS LUNCH AND LEARN SERIES
