Dr. Byrnes has collaborated with cardiac surgery and perfusionists to offer novel central ECMO support for patients after calcium channel blocker ingestion overdose. Matthew Clark, M.D., collaborated with our anesthesia team to assess extubation failure after modified Blalock-Taussig Shunt Placement. ADDITIONAL INDUSTRY-SPONSORED PROTOCOLS Leslie Rhodes, M.D., is our site’s lead investigator for a phase IV trial randomizing subjects to apixaban vs. standard of care therapy for treatment of venous thromboembolism. Dr. Asfari is our site’s lead investigator for a multi-center trial randomizing subjects to receive either L-Citrulline or placebo after cardiac surgery with cardiopulmonary bypass for ASD, VSD, or CAVC.
