Formerly known as the Children’s Center for Weight Management, the SHINE Clinic is an acronym for Support and Help in Nutrition and Exercise. The name is changed to diminish the stigma associated with obesity, but our goal remains the same: to offer a behavior-based weight management program for children and adolescents. Our multidisciplinary team of pediatricians, nurse practitioners, nurses, social workers, psychologists, dietitians and physical therapists uses a comprehensive approach to weight management. We educate families about the benefits of healthy eating and an active lifestyle with an emphasis on setting realistic goals. With our medical and psychological support, children and families are able to overcome barriers that may get in the way of success.
