Children’s of Alabama One Stop assists physicians with all aspects of emergency or inpatient referral—from patient placement/

admissions to consults, transports and transfers.

Referring physicians may also use One Stop to contact Children’s specialists for advice—even when the patient in question is not being seen for an emergency or being considered for admission to Children’s. How does it work? 1. Referring physician calls One Stop using one of the numbers above 2. House Supervisor (HS) obtains information about patient and a direct callback number 3. HS initiates a three-way call with Children’s physician, if needed 4. If decision is made to transfer, HS calls referring facility back with transfer information

One Stop can also: • Assist with patient follow-up and medical records • Assist with physician concerns • Resolve issues/concerns • Help facilitate the patient referral process
