ELECTION TO SOCIETY OR ASSOCIATION

DAVID KIMBERLIN, M.D., distinguished professor in the Division of Pediatric Infectious Diseases, elected to Association of American Physician Council.

SARAH NOVARA, M.D., associate professor in the Division of Pediatric Neurology, named fellow of the Child Neurology Society.

CHRISTY FOSTER, M.D., assistant professor in the Division of Pediatric Endocrinology, elected to Society for Pediatric Research.

SOCIETY/ASSOCIATION AWARDS

HEATHER AUSTIN, PH.D., professor in the Division of Adolescent Medicine, earned the C.J. Rosecrans Jr., Ph.D., Spirit of Alabama Psychological Association (aPA) Award for her leadership, advocacy and dedication to advancing the profession.

NINA REYNOLDS, PH.D., pediatric psychology services lead in the Children’s of Alabama Department of Behavioral Health, was recognized with the Outstanding Early Career Psychologist Award by the Alabama Psychological Association for her dedication to pediatric psychology and her growing impact as a leader in the field.

The Lifetime Achievement Award for the Alabama Psychological Association was presented posthumously to AVI MADAN-SWAIN, PH.D., honoring her remarkable career in teaching, research and clinical practice, along with her long-standing commitment to aPA and psychology in Alabama.

ANNALISE SORRENTINO, M.D., professor in the Division of Pediatric Emergency Medicine, received the Southern Society of Pediatric Research Educator Award.

JESSICA SCHMITT, M.D., MSHQS, assistant professor in the Division of Pediatric Endocrinology and Diabetes, selected for Paul Kaplowitz Lecture at the Pediatric Endocrinology Society annual meeting.

AVI MADAN-SWAIN, PH.D., professor in the Division of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology, received the Wright Ross Salk Award for Distinguished Service in Pediatric Psychology.
